ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY

We had a very good turnout at the Chamber’s Annual Christmas Party on Tuesday, December 24 at the Hillsborough Kiwanis Center. The Kiwanis members did a fabulous job of preparing a delicious turkey dinner with all the fixin’s and apple pie for dessert. Kathy Weir, of the Albert Co. Tourism Association, said a warm & heartfelt blessing for our continued success in the future. It was a very festive atmosphere in which to relax and socialize.

Thank you to our prizes donators: Kay’s Framing, Kindred Spirits, Stewart Financial, Futura Signs, Albert Co. Clay Company, Hillsborough Fashions, The Hopewell Rocks, Town of Riverview, Broadleaf Guest Ranch, Dents & Stones, Steeves Maples, Unique Glass & Studio On the Marsh.

Our first presenter was Sharon Geldart of CBDC. She expressed their mandate is to provide financial support for new & existing Albert Co businesses for startup or expansions. They are also a great source of information for starting or growing business in rural areas.

Stacy Whitewood of MacWood Windows, Doors & More, was our second presenter. They are a new business at 38 Trites Rd. in Riverview. Stacey and her two partners bring 71 years, collectively, in all aspects of home construction and renovation experience. They have a staff of 4, as well as 5 subcontractors who work with them. We welcome them as new members of the Albert Co. Chamber and wish them great success.

Our Secretary, Kevin Snair (Creative Imagery), officially launched the new website. Kevin’s design allows the website to be a living document. This means it will develop and change as our Chamber and our businesses grow. We encourage all businesses in Albert Co. to become Chamber members. You can then take advantage of the benefits of listing on the site, which include added credibility, free advertising, networking opportunities, discounts from other members, special rate health insurance, specialized category listing, as well as links to the Atlantic and NB Chambers sites. Anyone visiting the site will be able to send emails or link to members sites. The site will include information on upcoming events and current happenings in the county. Past event information will be available in the archives. We will include a photo and contact information of the current board of directors of the Chamber.

Judy Tait, with input by Kevin Snair, created the wonderful logo design of which we are very proud. We feel it depicts our vision going forward very artistically & poignantly.

Happy Holidays to All from the ACC of C Board

ELGIN DAY 2009
"We arrived at Elgin Days and headed to the WI Center to see where we could help out. After meeting with some pleasant company and learning about the environment from the Elgin Eco Association we headed down to the Seniors Complex. We were fortunate enough to learn some history about Elgin, and watch some of the lovely women quilt while we ate fresh muffins and juice. At 11:00am we headed for the field across the street to assist with a childrens soccer game, little did we know that we would be the team captains! The day was very sunny and lent itself well to our soccer game; everyone surely enjoyed the BBQ, the live band along with the free Christmas trees! We will be sure to return to Elgin Days next year! A special thanks to everyone for making us feel so welcome, and helping us get to know Elgin a little better."
Canada Day
"Casely Park was full of Canada Day spirit and all that attended on Wednesday enjoyed themselves. From the pirate ship to the ultimate challenge there was lots of fun for the children and adults to take part in. The basketball hoop and craft center kept kids of all walks of life occupied. The Albert County Chamber of Commerce summer students were thrilled to have the opportunity to be involved and hope to show the same support in the years to come!"
