ACCC Business Excellence Awards Award Descriptions for 2023

Important Dates: 

• Public Notice: All Nominations open Feb 6th and must be received by April 3, 2023
• Public Notice: People’s Choice Awards Voting between April 6th and 27th, 2023

Business of the Year

This will be awarded to an outstanding business or organization that, in the past year, has:

1. Consistently delivered optimal (customer) service
2. Demonstrated best-practice procedures in workplace wellness, health, and safety
3. Demonstrated innovative and proactive leadership within their business or industry
4. Demonstrated measurable success as a business and/or as an employer
5. Practiced good citizenship and contributed to the betterment of the county

Non-Profit of the Year

This will be awarded to an outstanding organization that, in the past year, has:

1. Demonstrated innovative and proactive leadership within their organization or sector
2. Demonstrated measurable success in their field
3. Practiced good citizenship and contributed to the betterment of the County
4. Developed the skills, knowledge, and performance of its organization and volunteers

Emerging Business of the Year

This will be awarded to an outstanding business or organization that, in the past year, has:

1. Been in operation for one year to four full years,
2. Met an identifiable need within the County
3. Demonstrated measurable success in their business and/or as an employer

Tourism Excellence 

This will be awarded to an outstanding business or organization (including accommodations) that, in the past year, has:

1. Consistently delivered promotion of the Albert County Region
2. Exceeded customer expectations in their industry
3. Delivered an exceptional level of service and hospitality to its guests that exceeded customer expectations
4. Demonstrated measurable success as a business and guest destination
5. Integrated the character of Albert County into their establishment
6. Demonstrated innovation in one or more of the following: originality of concept, architectural quality, design or guest experience

Albert County Artistic Excellence 

This will be awarded to an outstanding business or organization that, in the past year, has:

1. Enriched, expanded, and/or heightened the visual, musical, or culinary artistic scene in Albert County
2. Offered a quality product that reflects the character of the County
3. Shown commitment to sourcing materials, ingredients, or inspiration locally
4. Shown dedication to promoting Albert County’s art and culture locally and outside the County
5. Dedicated time, energy and/or resources to presenting and/or preserving aspects of Albert County’s rich culture and heritage

Community Care and Service 

This will be awarded to an outstanding business or organization that, in the past year, has:

1. Provided intentional, personable, and consistent representation of Albert County in their sector and/or general public
2. Enhanced County spirit and goodwill both within and outside the County
3. Practiced good citizenship and made exceptional contributions to the County by promoting community betterment, including sustainable development and operations as their normal course of business and in day-to-day operations
4. Self-initiated environmental actions and programs beyond minimum legislative rules and regulations
5. Promoted sustainable business and lifestyle within the County

Awarded to an outstanding business or organization from the above nominees, voted on by the community.
