As part of a concerted effort to enhance downtown and municipal safety, the City of Moncton will soon be hiring eight new community officers, who will be working an expanded schedule of 7 days a week with 20-hour daily coverage.

The community officers will be recruited in the coming weeks through the City’s service contract with the Corps of Commissionaires NB & PEI Division Inc., and those hired will be required to have specialized training, such as standard first aid and CPR, security training and non-violent crisis intervention. It is anticipated that the team will begin its patrols in April 2021.
